Established in 2001, Quantum Practice Management Systems was founded on the recognition that physicians face a highly complex array of needs and issues that must be successfully managed behind the scenes in order to provide comprehensive cancer care that is responsive to the needs of the community.  In practical terms, Quantum is a team of Billing Specialists focused on providing solutions for daily operations that foster accuracy, efficiency and effectiveness. 

With nearly 15 years as an Oncology office administrator and more than 10 years in the clinical laboratory, Patricia Baker Ventura, Director of Operations, is uniquely positioned to lead the Quantum team.   She has also served as an independent third-party technical expert/expert witness to review and analyze data for the law firm of Sidley Austin Brown & Wood over a 3-year period during an extensive legal matter surrounding appropriate Oncology billing practices.

Blending clinical medicine with broad administrative experience enables Quantum to approach practice management and medical billing with a keen eye for complete and accurate coding of services coupled with appropriate reimbursement and problem claim resolution.  By applying these skills to develop and implement systems and processes to handle the essential daily operations of claims coding and processing, Quantum enables physicians and their staff to direct their full attention towards providing excellent patient care.

Quantum has provided consultative services and practice "Review of Systems" to many physician practices across a wide geographic area.  We have assisted with new practice set-ups, educational programs for billing and clinical staff on coding policies and procedures, resolution of long-standing problem claims, and highly fruitful AR clean up projects.  It has been our experience that every practice, from solo physician operations to large practices with highly sophisticated billing systems, uncover valuable nuggets of practical information as a result of participating in a "Review of Systems" for their practice. 

Quantum has distinguished itself by stepping outside the box in the areas of resolving difficult or long-standing claims issues.  Our technical expertise in getting to the root of a problem is the foundation of our approach to the claim preparation aspects of medical billing.  This careful scrutiny at the time of claim entry greatly reduces the number of claims requiring follow-up and improves cash flow for the practice.  Our specialty-specific expertise is also an invaluable asset in terms of assisting practices to receive accurate reimbursement for new therapies and drugs.  Our highly capable staff taps into every available resource to help ensure appropriate reimbursement for therapies by utilizing charitable foundations to help fill financial gaps for patients and seeking drug replacement from pharmaceutical support programs for therapies not covered by insurance.
